WMD's; leftists cry foul,but they did'nt allways!

I just wanted to quiz you on what you think the left in this country thinks of WMD's,and what they "really" think of the war in Iraq.(that is when the acquisition of power is not at stake)
Surely it was George Bush who said - "One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." But no, it was Bill Clinton in 1998.
Our secretary of state (surely Colin Powell),said "Iraq is a long way from here, but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." No I'm sorry it was then Sec. of State Madeline Albright, (February 1998)
OK, now I'll make it a little harder. Who, in 2002 said "We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." ........Sure sounds like a republican, no, that was Al Gore.
How about this, surely a right winged evil conservative said this in 2002: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." No sorry, it was Faaaaar left mass. Senator Tedd Kennedy.
Hmmm, there seems to be a solid theme here.
Here are a couple from what surely must be a Republican Senator (2002):"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." In (2003) he said:
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime. . . . He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. . . . And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction. So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real."
Now I'm sure you got the last one right, they were both said by Pres. Candidate John Kerry.
The fact of the matter is that former President Clinton, John Kerry,Albright,Pelosi,Gore, most of the same countries that refuse to help, as well as many members of Congress believed, just as President Bush did, that Saddam Hussein possessed or was developing biological, chemical and nuclear weapons. The widespread attacks on President Bush are little more than political demagoguery and grandstanding and depend on public forgetfulness and ignorance to succeed.
The possibility that Saddam had WMD's far out-weigh the obverse opinion. If you ask me the weapons have been dispersed into Baathists sympathizing nations.
Lately, because of increased attention being paid to this flip flop of oppinion, the left is losing it's hold. They are slowly backing away from the "WMD" soap box, now they are using individual incidents to attack the war effort.
Listening to today's politicians and what goes for informed media commentary makes me sick, they assert that George Bush should have waited for unambiguous proof that a megalomaniac tyrant like Saddam Hussein had nuclear-chemical-biological weapons. I'm wondering if that unambiguous proof sufficient for America's political hustlers and gullible public will have to be a mushroom cloud over one of our cities or millions of Americans suffering and dying from chemical or biological toxins.
When you hear the talking heads espousing the same old "Bush decieved us" rhetoric, remember, the old "caviat Emptor" (Buyer beware) applies to the news too.
Happy Memorial Day

Thanks Anonymous. I admit I was quite the novice when I started and I am sure you can find plenty of errors in my writing. However, the fact that you neglected to discuss the issue makes me wonder where you stand.
I mean, was correcting my usage more important than the issue of Liberal flip flops on WMD's.
Let me know what you think and if you find more errors please point them out. I can't go back and proof read all of my old posts.
