President Elect Clinton

It is a phrase feared by many. However, I bet you haven't been fearing that it may be Bill Clinton who gets back in as the Commander in Chief. Well, that is exactly what is in the works. You see, well known Democrat strategists have been salivating over the prospects of a third term for Bill.
The 22nd amendment specifically denies the right of US Presidents to regain the job for a third term. FDR was elected to 4 terms and spurred Congress to pass the 22nd Amendment in March 1947.It was instituted on February 27th, 1951
The Constitution also restricts Presidents who have been Impeached from being elected to another term. The Democrats are proposing that the Republicans strike a deal in Congress to strike the 22nd amendment from the Constitution. In turn, they would agree to an amendment to allow naturalized citizens ( specifically - Arnold Schwartzeneger ) to be eligible for the Presidency.
The two-hour Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, did not discuss the possibility of the Amendment effecting Mr. Schwartzeneger. However the other party to be effected (Bill Clinton) told the crowd at the JFK library, It wouldn't affect me, but for future generations the 22nd amendment should be modified,
"There may come a time when we elect a president at age 45 or 50, and then 20 years later the country comes up against the same kind of problems the president faced before. People would like to bring that man or woman back but they would have no way to do so," Clinton said.
Here's the problem, it would be deleterious to our future as a Nation to allow for foreign Born Nationalists to be elected. Maybe Arnold would be a great President, ( I have my doubts) but the risk would be too great. Who is to say that in 20 years a man is elected President from a foreign country and finds himself in a conflict between the security or betterment of America and his own homeland. How would America fair now, if we had an Iranian born President during the war on Terror. What if it became evident that Iran was ( as it is in reality) seeking Nuclear weapons to attack Israel. Would he chose to preemptively strike his homeland in defense of the infidels? The scenarios are endless and just as ominous.
So why would we, as Christians want to jeopardize the future , and allow SlickWilly back in the white house, just to get a mediocre Centrist Republican elected. Makes no sense to me!
This is being bandied about right now, and will likely drop off the public's radar for awhile. I am just afraid that when it comes back to the forefront, it may be too close to ratification for it to become subjected to public scrutiny.
It is commonly feared by some who I am in agreement with, that this could allow for a Dictator or foreign despot to become a lifetime leader of the free world.
