Deus vult

Many Americans do not understand our role in the perpetual escalation of World War III. Many throughout the World are confused and undereducated about, why this war is fought and where it is leading because they don't know where it began.
In observation of brevity requirements, I am unable to go as deep into the history as is needed. I ask that you read the column to the end and then return to the links and read more about the history of the war to end all wars.

From Mankind's beginning in the Garden of Eden, to the Reformation to come when Christ returns, Christians and Muslims have been/ and will be at odds over the rights to the kingdoms of Heaven and Earth.
Although Cain was the first born, it was his younger brother Able who found favor with God. Abel's sacrifice of the first born in his flock was accepted by God. His brother Cain's sacrifice of grain was rejected. It was at this moment that the first split was made. Cain grew jealous and soon slew Able. Cain was then marked by God and banished to the East.Cain's decedents were to become the Muslim people and by the Hyksos as proxy; the Egyptian people.

It was imperative that Abraham have a descendant to carry on the bloodline promised to him by God. Since Abraham's wife Sarah could not conceive due to her age, Abraham fathered a son with his Egyptian handmaiden Hagar. Their son was named Ishmael.(The father of Arab Muslims)
Later God blessed Abraham and Sarah with a legitimate Son named Isaac. Sarah saw Ishmael (a Teen) mocking Isaac (a Toddler). Realizing that Ishmael was born of the flesh, and Isaac was born of the promise, Sarah soon understood that the two spirits were destined to struggle.

To protect Isaac, Sarah had Abraham expel Hagar and Ishmael to the East and out of the family. However, God showed mercy, and Ishmael was also blessed. Ishmael became the leader of all the great desert peoples of the Middle East.
It was the impatience that Abraham had for God's promise of a son that created Ishmael. So God made things fair to Ishmael by making him the ruler and father of all Islam. In the modern day, Cain and Ishmael are represented by the Muslim/Islamic world. Seth and Isaac started the Semitic bloodline. There had always been enmity between the two brothers. The Islamic nation will never accept that Israel is a legitimate sovereign nation.

The intolleration for each other was evident even after Christ's day. In AD638 after Muhammad had introduced Islam,the Islamic Arabs were jealous of the favor shown to Isaac, and they were insistent on Ishmael being the true blessed one. So the Islamic traditionalists wrote in the Quran that it was Ishmael who was the chosen one.

Again, Muslims attacked the Christian nations. A Muslim leader named 'Caliph Omar ibn Khattab' led a campaign to slaughter Christians. The holy land was lost to the descendants of Ishmael.
The Turks (nomadic Muslims from Turkmenistan) were marching on Jerusalem in 1095. Emperor Alexius I knew he could not drive the Muslims out alone so he sent out Peter the Hermit to plea with Pope Urban II for help.

The Pope gave a magnificent speech that was carried to Christians throughout Europe and the World. Here is an excerpt... " The infidel Turks are advancing into the heart of Eastern Christendom; Christians are being oppressed and attacked; churches and holy places are being defiled. Jerusalem is groaning under the Saracen yoke. The Holy Sepulchre is in Moslem hands and has been turned into a mosque. Pilgrims are harassed and even prevented from access to the Holy Land."

"The West must march to the defense of the East. All should go, rich and poor alike. The Franks must stop their internal wars and squabbles. Let them go instead against the infidel and fight a righteous war."

"God himself will lead them, for they will be doing His work. There will be absolution and remission of sins for all who die in the service of Christ. Here they are poor and miserable sinners; there they will be rich and happy. Let none hesitate; they must march next summer.'Deus Vult' (God wills it!) "

The Christians heard and they heeded. Right away the masses marched on the Turks and slaughtered them handily. That was known as the 1st Christian Crusade. Six more major Crusades soon followed. By the end of the second Crusade Christians had regained most of the Holy land, but a Muslim ruler named Saladin started a 'Jihad' against the Christians. Saladin was successful and sparked a third Crusade by "King Richard the Lion-hearted". The battle was bloody and the two leaders eventually came to a truce and compromise in 1192. The Muslims would control the Holy Land but the Christians could visit the shrines. By 1291 Muslims controlled all of the Holy Land. Other Crusades were launched but none were successful.

Later, The Ottoman Empire had taken rule over the Holy land.The decedents of the Ottoman are the Muslims in Bosnia.The British made short work of them. Post WWII Britain, in 1948, recognized the Jewish right to the land and they split Palestine between Israel and the Arab state of Jordan.
The 1967 "6 Day War" was the way Israel regained control of Arab occupied Sinai, Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of Jordan.

We have seen no decrease in Arab attacks on Israel since. We have however seen pressures on Israel by continuous bombings and jihads. America is a Christian Nation founded on Christian values. As Christians were prepared in the pre-Crusade era, to fight to the death, so must be the Christians of America and the World today. With Nuclear proliferation in Iran, and with our tenuous diplomacy with other Arab nations, as Christians we must be ready to defend the Holy Land. Apeasement is not the answer, we cannot sign treaties to end a struggle that has span the world's history. I know you hate to hear of the death and pain of war. No one wants suffering and death, but our brave soldiers are risking and giving their lives to keep us safe. The very least we can do is vote and loby to keep people in power that will continue the rightious fight.

The war on Terror is just a battle in the continuing struggle that began with Adam and Eve's offspring. The day will come when we must rise up and defend Christianity with our lives. We will have no help from the Liberal Humanists. They will offer nothing but hindrance.
When Liberal Democrats oppose the war in Iraq and America's opposition to Islamic radicals bent on the destruction of Israel and all Christians, they are revealing what side of the struggle they are on. Do not sway from your support for our troops, do not give in to the paganists among us when it comes to moral issues that govern our nation. If Liberal Democrats are voted into power and America returns to an appeasement first Nation when dealing with Islamic radicals; the ultimate threat to Israel will be manifested. We must support the Christian Conservatives in our Government and insist that they continue to uphold Christian rights and protect Israel!

The next battle in the Crusades will be the final one. We must be ready when we hear the battle cry ' DEUS VULT '!! I know it is hard for you to imagine it, but Christians will be caught up in a war to the death with Radical Islam. Christ revealed what the final outcome will be, it is up to us to determine what side we will be on when that day comes.
