Pat Robertson calls for Chavez's head !

Pat Robertson said.... "You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it, It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war..."
He continued, "We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."

Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Iatola Komani, Saloth Sar, Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Ill, Saddam Hussein, ......

The list is as long as the nose on Barbara Streisand's face. Evil, Maniacal, Despotic rulers of sovereign lands that have threatened America and the world. Would you have any problem if Pat Robertson had said, " In 1932 Poland should have assassinated Hitler and spared millions of lives and decades of reconstruction." How about this, " In 1931 China should have assassinated Emperor Hirohito and spared the millions of Asian and American lives." Why then is the comment calling for the assasination of a future evil agressor so frowned upon?
Most rational (non-Liberal) people would agree that even though the hypothetical quotes above call for the un-thinkable action of 'Assassination' , such an act perpetrated by a select few, that removes an evil dictator, to thwart an inevitable attack or invasion, can be better than suffering a major attack and fighting a subsequent war. Most would also agree the thought of Solath Sar never being able go on his murderous tirade across Cambodia during the Vietnam war is a pleasant one. So why are American Christians so embarrassed over Pat Robertson's comment? Is it because we have not paid attention to Venezuela and Cuba lately? I would like to remind you of what we are facing in the gathering threat from some Latin American nations.

Fifty Six year old Venezuelan president, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, attempted to over throw the Venezuela government in 1992, but was unsuccessful. Regardless of his failure, he was 'Questionably' elected president in 1998. He ran on the promise to help the poor, and won handily. Since then he has suppressed the country's economy past the poverty line in order to promote his agenda to substitute Democracy with a Communist state. He was only in office one year when he had the Constitution rewritten and made Venezuela one of America's most dangerous enemies. His copy-cat love affair with Fidel Castro has caused him to become an even bigger threat to us. However, it is his unholy alliance with Russia that poses the greatest danger. The Ruskies have been supplying him with military might for years.

~ Should we wait to see if Chavez can lead an all out Latin American war against the US ? ~

America must realize that the course taken by Chavez can only mean an eminent threat to the sovereignty of Western civilization. Despite Chavez's fatwa against the US, our government has not even batted an eye at his open hatred for America. We still import almost a quarter of our oil from Venezuela. This puts us in quite a predicament. He is using the oil revenue to prop up revolutionists in Cuba, Columbia and Brazil. All of these groups have America in their crosshairs.
He is succeeding at his short term goals of creating a Communist state, and his long term goal to conquer America is maturing.

Twenty years ago, America applied the Monroe Doctrine to Nicaragua and called for the head of Daniel Ortega. The embargo on Castro's Cuba has been in effect for 40 years. To consider an overthrow or assassination of Hugo Chavez is in direct compliance with the Monroe doctrine. It is time America swept the dust from the Monroe Doctrine and regard this criminal to be the threat he is.

If you are thinking that we should wait and let the people overthrow him, you are forgetting that Carlos Ortega and the CTV did march on Chavez in 2002 and when they ousted him, America ignored the opportunity to step in and block his return. Instead, he did return, and is now even more determined to attack America!

When I first heard that Pat Robertson had made these comments, I was listening to a talk radio host that I usually respect and am in line with. His condemnation in step with the onslaught from the liberal mainstream media caught me off guard. I soon found my self in Christian circles that were condemning the comments and asserting that Robertson did not speak for Christians. When I cleared my head and found time to think independently, I realized that what Robertson said is harsh, but founded.

What would be the alternative to such covert operations?
No alternative is in our favor. We are looking at a war resulting in millions of dead American Soldiers and millions of dead Latin American Soldiers. We would also see an assurgence of World War III. What's more, if none of the above came true, at the very least the people of Venezuela would be doomed to continue to live in an atmosphere comparable to the one in North Korea.
As Christians, we know that one day, we may hear the Pope stand up and call for a new Crusade just as Pope Urban did in 1095. If you hear the cry to take up arms in defense of Christianity against foes such as King Richard's enemies (Turks), will you have the strength and conviction in faith to do so? Will you adhere to the 'Politically Correct' notions fostered by Liberals who hate us? Or will you with resolve in your soul, sword in hand, march forth chanting, "DEUS VULT!!!! " ? The choice is yours. As for me, those who hate America and supports our enemy, will not be mourned.

If America chose to utilize covert operations, or supported a coup d'état, I would not dissent.
What is your opinion?
Now that you know a little more about the circumstances, are you less likely to jump on Pat the way many have? Can you understand that the disdain they have for Pat Robertson is really a disdain for all Christians? Do not be lumped together with them. Stand up, don't be afraid to point out that anti-Christian and anti-American attacks are not only justifiably responded to, but justifiably preempted! If that makes me a fanatic or extremist then so be it! Christ said in Revelations 3:16, "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." So I am thankful for the title of extremist, and when it comes to the defense of our homeland, we should all be extremists.
