Neville Chamberlain in London

Appeasement was wrong then and it is wrong today. It seems all that has changed are the faces........... have we really learned our lesson?
I fear we have not!

The sad thing is. NC changed his mind. Admitted he was wrong. And went on to work in the Churchill administration.

I doubt you will get that kind of behavior these days.

You are right, and the fact that Churchill saw that Chamberlain was sincere and accepted him as a changed man Churchill showed himself to be about more than partisan politics, something else you see little or none of today! Case in point Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman. In today's political scene, if you waver from the doctrine of the fringe Left, you are an outcast and discredited. That is very disturbing, and leads one to question the direction we are headed in. England has the same problem, even a lefty like Blair is too far right when he takes the non-appeasement side.
