Bogus Article Six Debate!

Turn on fox News, turn on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC or any radio talk show this week and what do you hear? A heated debate over the newly elected senator Keith Ellison and whether or not he should be allowed to take his oath on the Koran or if he should be forced to use the Bible.

Dennis Prager is an incredible talk show host and one of my favorites. Likewise Michael Medved is an astonishing host. Since they are both Jewish and both Conservatives from the west coast they are pretty good friends. When Prager wrote a stellar piece Tuesday pointing out that Ellison should NOT be allowed to take his Oath on the Koran, Medved took out after him (on Wednesday's show) and scorned his counterpart arguing that we are not a theocracy and laid out his own long diatribe as to why Ellison should be allowed to take his Oath on the Koran.


The Blogosphere is a flame with debate! This is no mere Liberal vs. Conservative skirmish. It has split brother against brother and grandmother against grandchild! It has been nasty!
Many have argued Medved's side by pointing to Article Six of the Constitution.

"NO RELIGIOUS TEST" is the mantra.
This ability to peruse the great document and find support for their argument has many spraining elbows patting themselves on the back! But before you folks get too wound up I'd like to ask everyone to extinguish the torches and lay aside the pitchforks for one moment! My dear pontificators, you have argued your point well but in your haste to fortify your argument against accusations of bigotry, all the while hurling the same at your opponent you missed one tiny little detail.

NO CONGRESSMAN HAS EVER BEEN OFFICIALLY SWORN IN ON A BIBLE OR ANY OTHER BOOK!

When the 110th Congress is sworn in they will be standing in a group and they will be holding their right hand up and taking their oath! Afterwards they will stand around and engage in phony conversation about the most boring topics. They will shake hands with people they care absolutely nothing about and then they will go back to their head quarters and on their own time they will unofficially take an oath (a MOCK oath) and then they will accept accolades from the weasels who want them to support their pork projects! The debate you are having is moot! It is needless and it makes you look foolish. Stop before you sprain something. Do we not have enough to talk about in this country? Is it so boring that you have to spend an entire week debating a non issue? I am ashamed of you people. This week we saw the ACLU attack Christmas via the Nativity movie showing in Chicago. Recently we've watched the Supreme Court vote on partial Birth abortion and the ability to keep 'In God We Trust' on our money. Antichristian activists like Newdow and others are attacking us on every front. From the Cross at Mt. Soledad to the right to pray in school and work. Gay rights cases are at the fore front and all we can do is lob hate bombs at each other over a NON ISSUE!!!!!

Come on America, get your head out of the sand and lets fight to preserve the moral foundation we stand on before it disappears and leaves us all flat on our behinds. Should Ellison be able to take his 'Mock Oath' on a Koran? Sure! I don't care if he takes it on a damn Playboy! It doesn't matter, it's not real and it means NOTHING!
