That's very interesting considering that his wife is FOR stem cell research, plus "socialized medicine" including a little something called "medicare", which initially focused on senior citizens.

And when Ronald Wilson Reagan passed to our Lord, I dropped a few tears. He was a good guy.

But the thing is, there was this mixed fear of communism that was creeping into the American Psyche that was from the Cold War and the decrepit soviet system. Our "evil empire" or supposed mortal enemy.

Republicans or Conservatives always need an enemy to justify the means.

But my brother, Chris, was a republican. He's a dead Marine now, but he was always my brother. And a great human being.

But there is some aspects of communism that work. There are some political policies from socialism that work.
But I do not think, nor will I ever, that ANY system works better than the American Constitution.

And when our most important leaders say that they will "PROTECT ALL AMERICANS FROM THREATS, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC",
some of them mean just that.

I believe in our President Barrack Obama.

But I have deep grievances with him as well. He really bothers me sometimes.

However, I believe it is better to spend massive amounts of tax dollars on helping those that are less fortunate that ourselves than it is to fund a war that cost 9 times as much as in the same amount of infrastructure work.

Jesus always taught us to help the weak and less fortunate than ourselves.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Nancy Reagan's leftist leanings like her support of the politically motivated and ill-informed science behind (EMBRYONIC) stem cell research is irrelevant to the issue. Reagan learned more about politics from men like Barry Goldwater and strong Constitutionalist scholars in the 60s than he learned in the whole of his younger and older life. He did not marry Nancy because they shared similar ideological holdings, they certainly did not agree all the time. Nancy was always somewhat to the left of the President on social issues and Reagan tended to be more toward the middle- right.

The issue is not whether Reagan was a good guy, what Nancy believes or whether Reagan was supporting Communism with Medicare. It is whether or not America should turn over the entire health care system to a bunch of power-mad leftists.
The issue is should we give up on our liberties to choose a doctor, choose our health care plan and choose, even if advised otherwise, to have no coverage at all. The Left is always concerned about our right to choose in issues like abortion but they never seem to think it is the right of the individual to choose how best to care for himself and his family.

If the current (favored) plan is made law, not having insurance will cost you $4,000 and land you in jail charged with a misdemeanor offense. The hypocrisy from the left is viral. They give bogus numbers for how many Americans are not insured. Not considering that vast numbers of these 'uninsured' are healthy, younger people who have college, work and/or family to worry about. The purchase of a new home, growing credit card debt and so much more can cause one to prioritize and choose the aforementioned over insurance. Should this make him a criminal? Should you support a cut throat plan to rip our health care system (the envy of the world) from it's roots and discard it on the liberal established trash heap of murdered capitalist successes then replace it with a completely government controlled, rigorously rationed mandate?! Knowing that this system has failed miserably every time it has been tried and that endemic rationing costs far more lives than does being uninsured, how can you seriously support this tripe?

As for the rest of your comment: NO ASPECT OF COMMUNISM WORKS!!! Where did you come up with that one Dave? I love the fact that you always come to my blog and offer opposition because it keeps me on my toes and builds consistency in my debate. Though I do think you have a sad case of left-itis and are easily persuaded by a feelings based ideology, I hold no animus toward you and simply hope to aid you in healing such a dehabilitating condition.... as your friend of course. :)

Communism KILLS, Dave, it kills people and spreads more cunningly than anthropological viruses.
It feeds on, emotionally driven, leftist tenants and grows to a fevered pitch with despotic governments slaughtering millions! Communism is not made up of liberty conducive parts- it is antithetical to liberty; the very liberty the founding fathers you quoted sought to insure. That "system of the American Constitution", you spoke highly of is actually the system of Capitalism. And Capitalism does NOT redistribute wealth and impose governmental mandates on health care! Capitalism allows for the free trade of ideas, ideals, goods and services. You see it's the private sector, fueled by liberty that feeds societal and economic growth and makes poor men rich and rich men richer. Capitalism is upward mobile and is the tide that raises all boats. Do not let someone talk you into support of a tyrannical ideology that offers governmental kingship over we serfs. To say that Communism or Socialism is justifiable just because we a Capitalist Republic share the belief in helping those who cannot help themselves is absurd. Remembering your 'Christ' reference, understand that Christ never said take from the rich and give to the poor, he said give YOUR OWN money to the poor! Capitalism offers people freedom to succeed but does not force them to! God doesn't zap Dave every morn and cause him to comb his hair in a certain way. God does not force food to appear on the table of poor people. He gives you the choice to get up and work or lay down and die. If you want to lay down and die God will let you. Just try it. Go lay down and wait for God to stand you up and feed you and you will see what I mean.

So if you are looking to pattern yourself after God or Christ you should be looking to help motivate people to work not prolong their poverty prison sentence. If someone is sick or otherwise unable to support themselves the church is suppose to help them but since the government took over the job, churches became more reserved about their charities. Once again liberalism claims a free market victim. However, I have absolutely no problem helping those who cannot help themselves...... as long as they CAN'T help themselves. No rational American would say we should not help or support physically and mentally handicapped or elderly folks.
But tell me, do you think the liberal's 'most hated' rich or even upper class people will be the victims of Obama's criminalization of health insurance truancy? NO WAY, it will be the mom and dad or single parent raising three kids while working full time and juggling finances who will suffer when they do not comply with the ruler's edict. $4,000 and jail time (unless you have a good lawyer) certainly seems likely to hurt those most likely unable to pay for the insurance anyway! I presume you ask, 'Why would the poor and middle class not want 'FREE health care?', Am I right? Well, that's easy. It's NOT free, read the favored proposal.

I am sorry about your brother, you have told me about him before. I hope you are learning to live with the loss. I know it can be hard.
You said you believe in President Obama. I have one question..... why? What has he done or does he stand for that seems so appealing? You say you have, '' deep grievances with him"..... like what? I must know this.
As for the final point in your comment, the posting of the Preamble section of the Constitution containing the words general welfare has been tried and failed in debate almost as often as Communism has failed! Actually most refer to the 'General Welfare Clause' in Article 1 section 8. They both however, refer to taxation rights not pork projects and socialized medicine.
Try to understand and I promise you will have a clear and correct thinking on the matter.

The phrase 'General Welfare', stands for and refers to our National Sovereignty and right to establish railroads, post offices and other establishments seen to be essential to the states. The Supreme Court has upheld this. Even Articles of Confederation #3 used the language to establish sovereign rights NOT promote food stamps and cheese. This clause has been abused by liberals on the supreme court and congress for years to erode our freedoms and rip from our hands the very land on which we fostered many generations. In 2005 they used it in New London to establish governmental rights to remove property from an individual(s) and give it to another individual(s) for the sole purpose of general welfare in the form of tax revenue. This is a misinterpretation of the preamble and Article I that opens the door for great evils Dave! Certainly you must be intellectually astute enough to see this. Right?
